We all feel the need to change the world in a positive way, but most of us do not know how to go about putting that change into action. Young people especially, feel the lack of resources to make the changes we want to see happen. Being just 25 years old myself, I've always felt too young to make a significant difference in the world around me. From feeling I do not have enough money to make a worth while contribution, not having enough free time to seriously commit to volunteering or simply being overwhelmed with all the different charity choices, I've always had some reason or another to say "Now is not the right time to give."
What we hope to accomplish with 'Designed 2 Give' is a setting where young individuals can get together, work as a team and overcome all the 'reasons' why we can't be the changes we want to see. Working with designers, models, make-up and hair artists and dedicated volunteers, we are going to bring about an amazing night of fashion and fun that we hope will inspire not just young people, but everyone to get involved in charity.
Designed 2 Give has chosen The Canadian Cancer Society as our first charity, and we will be showing at the iconic Bata Shoe Museum on Tuesday October 12th, 2010 (The day after Thanksgiving) from 7pm to 10:30pm.
Please join us for the night to support young people trying to make a difference and The Canadian Cancer Society.
